Cosentino’s Food Stores in Blue Springs, MO is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare, assemble and present high-quality deli items in a fast-paced environment. You will follow safety and sanitation guidelines and contribute to menu execution with attention to detail and teamwork.

You will assist in daily operations, support training of part-time staff, and help maintain Cosentino’s standards for quality, freshness, and customer service.

Qualifications

• A food handling permit must be obtained within the first 14 days of employment.
• Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino’s Learning Plan.
• Minimum of one year of previous cooking experience in a deli, bakery, catering, or banquet operation is required.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in deli or food service production facility is required.
• Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local food sanitation guidelines is required.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Work with the department manager to develop daily, weekly, and seasonal menu items.
• Know and practice appropriate portion control in deli production and service.
• Ensure all foods are prepared in strict accordance with safety, health, and sanitation guidelines, and reflect Cosentino’s high-quality standards.
• Enforce strict quality control of deli products in cases, hot lines, and other areas of the deli.
• Provide supervision of kitchen team members to be operationally effective and motivating.
• Promote a positive, collaborative team atmosphere and recognize good performance.
• Train, direct, and manage part-time cooks.
• Communicate resource needs clearly to the team for the Deli department.
• Inventory management and adherence to rotation procedures to monitor product dates.
