Job summary

PCC Community Markets is seeking a Deli Clerk in Bellevue, WA. You will deliver excellent customer service at the deli counter, prepare foods per PCC recipes, and maintain sanitation and safety standards throughout the department.

You will assist with packaging, merchandising, and potential production tasks, with opportunities to contribute to recipe development and costing. The role requires standing, bending and lifting up to 40 lbs, and weekend shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends
• Previous production cooking experience preferred
• Able to work in a fast pace kitchen environment
• Familiarity with specialty and prepared foods
• Excellent communication, organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and lifting 10-40lbs regularly
• A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent, professional customer service
• Produces prepared foods in accordance with PCC recipes, including grab-and-go items
• Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
• Follows department safe food handling procedures
• Responsible for maintaining hot bar, including presentation and production
• Follows department merchandising standards and procedures, including stocking sales floor grab-and-go case
• Performs packaging duties
• May be in charge of production tasks
• May oversee other kitchen staff as assigned
• Participates in recipe development and recipe costing
• May perform ordering responsibilities
• Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
