Job summary

PCC Community Markets in View Ridge Seattle is looking for a Cook to prepare foods for the deli, hot bar, soup bar and other stations while delivering excellent customer service.

You will produce prepared foods using PCC recipes, maintain sanitation and safety, and contribute to recipe development. Must hold a Washington Food Worker Card, be 18+, and available for weekend shifts. Starting wage is $21.55/hour with full benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years production cooking experience preferred.
• Current Washington State Food Worker Card required.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift 10-40 lbs.
• Available to work varied shifts, including weekends.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent, professional customer service
• Produces prepared foods in accordance with PCC recipes
• Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met
• Follows department safe food handling procedures
• Follows department merchandising standards and procedures
• Performs packaging duties
• May be in charge of production tasks
• May oversee other kitchen staff as assigned
• Participates in recipe development and recipe costing
• May perform ordering responsibilities
• Ensures department sanitation, cleanliness and safety standards are met

• Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including weekends
• 2+ years previous production cooking experience preferred
• Able to work in a fast pace kitchen environment
• Familiarity with specialty and prepared foods
• Excellent communication, organizational and multitasking skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to meet physical demands including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and lifting 10-40lbs regularly
• A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
