Overview

If you’re excited to work in a professional kitchen preparing and cooking meals, consider applying for the position of Deli Clerk. As one of the fastest growing natural foods retailers, we’re seeking team members who are passionate about food.

Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing excellent customer service in our Deli department. Your tasks include arranging vegetables and sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and maintaining food safety standards. There are ample opportunities to learn about products, equipment, and customer service skills. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and have experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Dependable and reliable
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude, with strong customer interaction skills
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs., move items up to 20 feet, for up to 4 hours
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, total of 8 hours per shift
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation
• Operate slicers, wrapping, and cooking equipment safely
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards; obtain a Food Handlers permit
• Work in temperature-controlled environments (cooler and freezer)
• Other duties as assigned

Pay Range

$15.80 - $21.35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
