Overview Of Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals” and providing high-level customer service in our popular Deli department. Responsibilities include arranging vegetables or sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and maintaining food safety standards. Opportunities for growth include learning about products, equipment, and customer service excellence. We seek candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

To be a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Have an outgoing, friendly demeanor, positive attitude, and strong customer interaction skills.
• Be flexible to work varying schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Be capable of answering phones and taking special orders.
• Lift/carry product weighing up to 70 lbs., over distances up to 20 feet, without mechanical assistance, for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, totaling up to 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation tasks.
• Operate food preparation equipment safely and maintain it in good condition.
• Follow safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations and obtain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer).
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $16.70 - $22.55/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
