Overview of Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing high-quality customer service in our Deli department. Your tasks include arranging vegetables and sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and maintaining food safety standards. There are ample opportunities for growth, learning about products and equipment, and becoming a customer service expert. We seek individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

To be a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Display an outgoing, friendly attitude with positive interaction skills with customers.
• Be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Answer phones and handle special orders.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. over distances up to 20 feet without mechanical aid, for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, totaling 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Operate slicers, wrapping, and cooking equipment safely.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in varying temperature environments (cooler and freezer).
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay Range

The pay range is $15.80 - $21.35/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
