Overview

If you’d be excited to work in a professional kitchen preparing and cooking meals, consider applying for the position of Deli Clerk. As one of the fastest growing natural foods retailers, we’re seeking team members who are passionate about food.

Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing excellent customer service. Your tasks include arranging vegetables or sliced meats for sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and sharing your knowledge of our deli products. Maintaining food safety standards is essential. There are ample opportunities for growth and learning about products, equipment, and customer service in our deli department. We value individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields.
• Dependable and reliable
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude, and good customer interaction skills
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for up to 4 hours, and stand for up to 4 hours continuously
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department
• Operate slicers and cooking equipment safely
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; obtain Food Handlers permit
• Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer)
• Other duties as assigned

Pay Range

$15.30 - $20.65 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
