• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.

Responsibilities

• Set up hot foods case for the day.
• Wait on customers by slicing deli meats and cheeses to their satisfaction, and dishing up and weighing salads from the cold deli case.
• Keep the food service section well stocked with product.
• Assist in making, wrapping and pricing pizzas and strombolis.
• Assist in making, packaging and pricing sandwiches, subs, etc.
• Assist with making store made salads.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the sales area.
• Wrap lunch meats and cheeses at closing and put them in cooler.
• Tear down chip section at closing.
• Cooperate with fellow department employees during store promotions.
• Obey all safety standards.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Deli Manager/Asst. Deli Manager/Store Manager.
• Uphold department quality and safety standards in the absence of managers.

Job description

The Deli Service Clerk is responsible for performing duties as directed by the Deli Manager and/or Asst. Deli Manager for the efficient operation of the Deli Department. The Deli Clerk is responsible for ensuring all Kennie’s customers are provided with the highest quality products and excellent customer service.

Requirements:

• EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: No prior experience required. Training will be provided.
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of this organization.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: None.
• REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
