Overview

If you’d be excited to work in a professional kitchen preparing and cooking meals, consider applying for the position of Deli Clerk. As one of the fastest growing natural foods retailers, we’re seeking team members who are excited to share their passion for food.

Overview of Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing high-level customer service in our Deli department. Your tasks include arranging vegetables and sliced meats for sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and maintaining food safety standards. There are ample opportunities to learn about products, equipment, and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

To qualify as a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Exhibit outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude.
• Be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
• Be able to answer phones and take special orders.
• Lift/carry products weighing up to 70 lbs. for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, totaling 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation.
• Operate slicers and other equipment safely.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards, including maintaining a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in different temperature environments.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $15.80 - $21.35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
