Overview

Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing high-level customer service. Your tasks include arranging vegetables or sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and sharing your knowledge of our meats, cheeses, and other deli items. Food safety knowledge is essential to maintain our high standards. The role offers opportunities for growth, product knowledge, and customer service expertise. Qualifications

To be a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and have experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Display an outgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and good interaction skills with customers.
• Be flexible to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess good communication skills; able to follow directions and work well in a team.
• Be capable of answering phones and taking special orders.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. over a distance of 20 feet, for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, totaling 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties in the department.
• Operate slicing, wrapping, and cooking equipment safely.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; obtain and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer).
• Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

The pay range for this position is $15.80 - $21.35/hour, based on experience and qualifications.
