Overview of Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing high-level customer service. Your duties include arranging vegetables or sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and maintaining food safety standards. There are ample opportunities for growth, product knowledge, and customer service expertise. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Dependable and reliable
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude, good customer interaction skills
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Good communication skills and team participation ability
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for distances up to 20 feet without mechanical aid, for up to 4 hours
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, totaling 8 hours per shift
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation
• Operate slicers, wrapping, and cooking equipment safely
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards; maintain a Food Handlers permit
• Work in temperature-varied environments (cooler, freezer)
• Other duties as assigned
