Overview

Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals” and providing excellent customer service. You may arrange vegetables or sliced meats for sandwiches, assist with catering orders, and share your knowledge of our meats, cheeses, and other deli items. Food safety knowledge is essential to maintain our high standards. The role offers opportunities to learn about products, equipment, and customer service. Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields.
• Dependable and reliable
• Outgoing, friendly, with a positive attitude and good interaction skills with customers
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for up to 4 hours, and stand for up to 8 hours per shift
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department
• Operate deli equipment safely and maintain it in good condition
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards; obtain and maintain a Food Handlers permit
• Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer)
• Other duties as assigned
