Overview of Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals” and providing high-quality customer service in our Deli department. Your duties include arranging vegetables or sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and maintaining food safety standards. There are ample opportunities to learn about products, equipment, and customer service. We seek individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

To be a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Have an outgoing, friendly demeanor with a positive attitude and strong customer interaction skills.
• Be flexible with scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
• Be able to answer phones and handle special orders.
• Lift/carry products weighing up to 70 lbs. for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Operate equipment like slicers, wrapping, and cooking tools safely.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards; obtain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in temperature-controlled environments such as coolers and freezers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
