Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing excellent customer service. You may arrange vegetables or sliced meats for sandwiches or assist with catering orders, sharing your knowledge of meats, cheeses, and other deli items. Food safety knowledge is essential to maintain our high standards. There are ample opportunities to learn about products, equipment, and customer service. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Dependable and reliable.
• Outgoing, friendly, with a positive attitude and good customer interaction skills.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. for distances up to 20 feet, for up to 4 hours.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Perform housekeeping and sanitize work areas.
• Operate slicers and cooking equipment safely.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in different temperature environments.
• Other duties as assigned.
