Overview

Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing “fresh and easy meals” and providing high-quality customer service. Your tasks may include arranging vegetables or sliced meats for sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and sharing your knowledge of our products. Food safety knowledge is essential to maintain our high standards. There are ample opportunities for growth and learning about products, equipment, and customer service excellence. Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields.
• Dependable and reliable
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude, and good interaction skills with customers
• Able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders
• Capable of lifting/carrying up to 70 lbs. for distances up to 20 feet, for up to 4 hours
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, total of 8 hours per shift
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitize work areas
• Operate slicers and cooking equipment safely
• Follow safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; maintain a Food Handlers permit
• Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer)
• Other duties as assigned
