Responsibilities

As a Deli Clerk, you will help customers make healthy food choices by preparing "fresh and easy meals" and providing excellent customer service in our popular department. Your duties include arranging vegetables and sliced meats for made-to-order sandwiches, assisting with catering orders, and sharing your knowledge of meats, cheeses, and other deli items. Food safety knowledge is essential to maintain our high standards. There are ample opportunities for growth, including learning about products, equipment, and customer service skills. Qualifications

To qualify as a Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in grocery, restaurant, or related fields.
• Be dependable and reliable.
• Show an outgoing, friendly attitude and positive behavior to interact effectively with customers.
• Be flexible with scheduling, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Possess good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Be capable of answering phones and taking special orders.
• Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. over a distance of 20 feet, and stand for up to 4 hours continuously.
• Perform general housekeeping, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas.
• Operate slicers, wrapping, and cooking equipment safely.
• Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; maintain a Food Handlers permit.
• Work in different temperature environments, such as coolers and freezers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
