Meijer Inc. in Lexington, KY is seeking an experienced store leadership professional to oversee day-to-day operations and drive sales while delivering exceptional customer service.

You will mentor staff, manage scheduling, train teams, and ensure compliance with company standards. The role requires 1 year of management experience and 2–3 years in retail, with rotation through departments such as meat, bakery, produce and deli.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• 1 year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) and customer service experience are helpful.
• Clear and precise direction to team members is expected.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to inform decisions.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor team members across organization including SDITs and hourly staff.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsabilités

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day operations within various departments of the store.
• Serves as mentor and coach for all team members.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales while meeting customer needs and ensuring service is quick and efficient.
• Maintains store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours and product presentation.
• Ensure positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development for team members.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Communicates the Meijer Friendly Initiative in all team meetings and conversations.
• Mentors and coaches the team to exceed sales goals and uphold Meijer standards.
• Ensures team is thoroughly trained in all roles and that required training is completed.
• Spends majority of time in-store communicating with customers and team members.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
• Reliable and consistent attendance is required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
