Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a motivated Deli HMS Supervisor to support deli and bakery operations in our Carthage, NC location. You will lead a team in the absence of the Deli Manager, manage labor and coaching to reach productivity targets, and ensure a superb customer experience daily.

You will promote our brand culture, assist in achieving financial goals, and uphold safety and sanitation standards across the department. A CFSM accreditation or ability to obtain is required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Must be accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar accrediting organization as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" or will be required to attend company provided training and have the ability to achieve accreditation within the first 90 days of employment; Accreditation must be maintained while employed in a position requiring accreditation

Responsibilities

• Manage the Deli Bakery HMS Department in the absence of the Deli Manager, supervising the performance of all duties.
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to achieve productivity targets.
• Provide leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of our Brand Strategy and Culture.
• Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Promote fast, easy, flexible, and friendly customer service and a positive shopping experience.
• Model outstanding customer service and use product knowledge to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Control store expenses through proper ordering, care for supplies and equipment.
• Understand and use company tools such as financial reports, ACIS, scheduling, productivity, ordering (CAO), and business information systems.
• Perform duties ensuring department appearance, quality, safety, and sanitation standards are met.
• Ensure schedules provide extraordinary customer service and are written in advance.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise aligns with policies.
• Monitor for unsafe conditions and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Record and report accidents per Food Lion procedures.
• Monitor shrink and coach associates to prevent losses.
• Adhere to company guidelines, dress code, and personal appearance standards.
• Complete CBT and training packets as required.
