Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Sussex, WI is seeking a Deli / Bakery Supervisor to lead a high-performing team across deli and bakery operations.

You will direct daily activities, mentor staff, and drive exceptional customer service while maintaining store standards and profitability. The role requires leadership experience within restaurant, food service, deli or bakery environments, plus the ability to manage staffing, training, and performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in meat, bakery, produce and deli; customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Strong communication to provide clear directions to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflict and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information to make informed decisions.
• Ability to mentor team members and teach suggestive selling.
• Completion of required certifications is expected.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and team members.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote succession planning by developing career paths and promoting internally.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions as needed.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink within the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service and uphold Meijer standards.
• Mentor and coach team members to ensure service and sales goals are met.
• Ensure thorough training of team members and adherence to required certifications.
• Spend most time in-store engaging with customers and team members to ensure excellent service.
• Promote a safe work environment and maintain reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
