Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other store areas (meat, bakery, produce, deli) and customer service experience helpful.
• Clear, precise direction to team members.
• Ability to resolve conflicts by addressing root causes.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to analyze financial and statistical information for decisions.
• Ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization and ensure safety.
• Successful completion of required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentors and coaches team members.
• Implements strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales while meeting customer needs.
• Maintains store appearance and product presentation to company standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promotes succession planning and development paths.
• Disciplinary actions and discharge recommendations.
• Responsible for P&L, sales achievement and shrink control.
• Models fast, friendly customer service and Meijer initiatives.
• Ensures staff training and safety practices are followed.
