Job summary

C&K Market Inc. is seeking an Assistant Deli Manager to supervise 7–30 employees in the Bakery/Deli area, interview and hire applicants, order supplies, and maintain all paperwork and bookkeeping.

Responsibilities include food preparation (frying chicken, doughnuts, baking), slicing and pricing meats and cheeses, stocking, serving customers, taking phone orders, and ensuring clean, safe work areas. Reports to store manager and aims to meet budgeted sales and profits.

Qualifications

• Supervises 7-30 employees in Bakery/Deli.
• Interviews and hires applicants.
• Maintains paperwork and bookkeeping.
• Performs diverse food prep tasks including frying and baking.
• Slices meats and cheeses, weighs and prices items.
• Stocks shelves, serves customers, and handles phone orders.
• Receives payment and makes change; keeps area clean.

Responsibilities

• Meets or exceeds budgeted sales, wage and gross profit objectives.
• Directs daily procedures for handling and manufacturing product.
• Plans and controls product flow and assigns staff schedules.
• Ensures policies and procedures are followed and reports are filed.
• Oversees product receiving, quality checks, invoicing and inventory.
