Job summary

You will slice deli meats and cheeses to order, prepare bakery items, offer samples, stay current with ads, and help ensure freshness and proper temperatures while following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Retail experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer questions about products and make suggestions to customers.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests using proper deli equipment.
• Prepare deli/bakery/bistro items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of deli/bakery/bistro specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli/bakery/bistro items to meet customer needs.
• Use equipment according to company guidelines and maintain product quality.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and adhere to safety procedures.
