Job summary

Kroger is hiring for a deli/bakery associate to create an outstanding customer experience and maintain a safe, clean environment. You will assist the department manager in meeting sales and quality standards while embracing our Customer 1st strategy.

You will slice deli items, prepare bakery products, stock, label, and inventory department merchandise, and follow all safety procedures and temperature controls to ensure product freshness and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Customer service oriented; able to answer questions about products sold in the department and store.
• Ability to gain and maintain knowledge of department products and suggest items.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment where customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Slice deli meats and cheeses to customer requests using proper deli equipment.
• Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of deli/bakery/bistro specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products with accurate portions to prevent shrink.
• Recommend items to ensure customers get what they want.
• Use equipment according to company guidelines and standards.
