Job summary

Mechanics Bank Wealth Management seeks a Director of Delaware Trust to oversee and grow the firm’s trust business in Delaware. The role requires deep expertise in trust administration, regulatory compliance, and cross‑functional leadership to enhance profitability and service quality.

The candidate will mentor staff, manage complex accounts, and develop relationships with lawyers, accountants, and portfolio managers. Travel is expected to 20–30% as part of business development and client service.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of trust administration experience or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of Delaware trust requirements and fiduciary practices.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills across complex documentation.
• Proven ability to manage regulatory and policy changes.

Responsibilities

• Proactively administers and manages assigned trust activities in compliance with governing documents and regulations.
• Lead sales efforts and collaborate with wealth management teams to grow trust business.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure quality of service and cross-functional collaboration.
• Build centers of influence and maintain relationships with attorneys and CPAs.
• Oversee tax and legal activities related to accounts and coordinate with compliance.
