Job summary

True Markets is seeking a senior DeFi Engineer to own the backend services behind onchain trading, including quoting, execution, and settlement across Solana and EVM chains. The work runs in Go in a shared monorepo: integrating venues and aggregators, listing new markets, wiring price feeds, and tracing an order from quote through signed transaction to confirmed fill.

Job Description

The DeFi Engineer owns the backend services behind onchain trading at True Markets — quoting, execution, and settlement across Solana and EVM chains. The work runs in Go in a shared monorepo: integrating venues and aggregators, listing new spot and perpetual markets, wiring price feeds, and tracing an order from quote through signed transaction to confirmed fill. This is a senior seat on a small team, with end-to-end ownership of projects from design through production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship backend services in Go across quoting, execution, and settlement.
• Own projects end to end, from design decision through migration, rollout, and production verification.
• Integrate onchain venues and providers, including DEX aggregators, perp venues, and signing infrastructure.
• List and configure new spot and perpetual markets, including price sources and asset metadata.
• Maintain market data ingest: onchain and exchange price feeds, time-series storage, and the APIs that serve them.
• Debug failed transactions across the stack, from service logs to onchain execution.
• Support production: respond to alerts, run deploys, and confirm fixes in dashboards.
• Review others’ work and set the standard for how changes to the money path are scoped and tested.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years building and shipping production backend services.
• Deep proficiency in Go, or strong fluency in another statically typed language and demonstrated speed picking up new ones.
• Hands‑on Solana or EVM development — RPC, transaction construction, signing, and confirmation.
• Strong grasp of crypto fundamentals: wallets, tokens, gas, and how a swap settles onchain.
• AI‑native: Claude Code or comparable agentic tooling as a daily force multiplier, with strong instincts for when to trust it, when to verify, and how to push it harder.
• Strong written communication and high autonomy in a small team.

Ideal Qualifications

• Familiarity with DEX aggregators, AMMs, or routing.
• Key management experience — MPC, threshold signing, or policy‑based approval.
• Trading systems exposure: order flow, quotes, fills, fees, or position accounting.
• Experience with perpetuals or margin products.
• Time‑series or high‑volume data pipelines.
• Observability practice and on‑call experience.
• Open‑source contributions, or a trading tool built for its own sake.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $160,000 – $200,000 per year, with the opportunity for equity
