Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking a Subcontracts Specialist for the Slidell, LA location. The role owners a subset of acquisitions for a major defense program under the supervision of a Sr. Supply Chain Manager, collaborating across the Sea Systems SCM & Program Office.

The candidate will coordinate with Program Management, conduct cost & pricing analyses, and negotiate terms for complex subcontracts in a government environment, while ensuring compliance with FAR and IMS requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar discipline required.
• 3+ years of experience in Procurement/Acquisitions desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience evaluating program risks and opportunities.
• Demonstrated team player with cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to operate across organizational boundaries.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• U.S. citizen able to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Program Management to consolidate subcontractor requirements into accurate RFPs.
• Examine bid responses and perform cost and pricing analysis to develop negotiation strategy.
• Negotiate, place, and manage complex subcontracts within a government acquisition environment.
• Originating formal subcontract documents with approvals from leadership and FAR requirements.
• Understand IMS and critical path and mitigate schedule risks.
• Manage subcontractor program components to deliver on time and within cost.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and drive corrective actions with Supplier Development.
• Participate in program meetings and transmit data to subcontractors.
• Solve supplier and external customer problems and communicate progress.
• Maintain and control all correspondence between Textron Systems and subcontractors.
