Job summary

Textron Systems in Slidell, LA is seeking a Subcontracts Specialist to own subcontracting work for a major defense program, reporting to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager. The role requires strong organization, collaboration, and communication to meet mission objectives.

You will coordinate with program management, draft and negotiate subcontract terms, monitor performance, and ensure IMS/FAR compliance while working across functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar discipline.
• 3 years of experience working with or in a Procurement Organization.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience evaluating program Risks and Opportunities.
• Demonstrated experience in a team-based environment – team player.
• Demonstrated ability to works across organizational boundaries.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS office.
• This position requires an individual to be a U.S citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance

Responsibilities

• Consolidate subcontractor requirements into RFPs before issuing to bidders.
• Analyze bid responses and conduct cost/pricing analysis to shape negotiation strategy.
• Negotiate and manage high-dollar subcontracts within a government environment.
• Prepare formal subcontract documents with stakeholders and FAR considerations.
• Understand IMS and critical path and mitigate to ensure on-time completion.
• Manage financial, technical, and schedule requirements of subcontractor components.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and drive corrective actions with the Supplier Development team.
• Attend program meetings and communicate requirements to subcontractors.
• Collaborate to solve supplier and customer problems and report progress.
• Maintain all correspondence between Textron Systems and subcontractors.
