Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Software Engineer/Developer for the NAVAIR program to collaborate on mission-critical naval aviation software. You will act as a Technical Area Expert in SW Engineering to support IFC approvals for MQ-9A Reaper efforts and coordinate with teams across testing, planning, and software release activities.

You will enable on-site testing, track deliverables, and monitor schedules while ensuring compliance with security clearances and travel requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have a DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain an Interim Top Secret to start.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Will also require a courier card for travel.
• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related work experience.
• Occasional CONUS travel will be required.
• Knowledge in being a Technical Area Expert (TAE) in SW Engineering domain to support USN/USMC Category 3 Interim Flight Clearance (IFC) approval for the MQ-9A Reaper effort.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Technical Area Expert (TAE) in the SW Engineering domain to support IFC approvals for MQ-9A Reaper.
• Modify planning artifacts, track on-site testing, review results, and sign off software releases for MQ-9A Air Vehicle/Ground Control software.
• Support follow-on IFCs and related software capabilities for MQ-9A and related platforms.
• Track MQ-9A Air Vehicle Software problems and update impact assessments.
• Monitor software deliverables for MQ-9A Air Vehicle/Ground Control System software.
• Monitor MQ-9A SW Schedule, IMS progress, and report deviations to PMA-266 SW lead/CHENG.
