Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation's Target Rock team in East Farmingdale, NY is seeking a Project Engineer, Defense to direct engineering for Navy Nuclear valves and equipment from design through supply. You will support planning, manufacturing, quality, contracts, and programs, and provide primary technical support to Navy Nuclear customers.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering, PE or advanced degree preferred, and US citizenship with security clearance.

Qualifications

• Four (4) year Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Nuclear) or equivalent experience.
• Professional Engineering Registration or advanced Engineering Degree (preferred).
• Power Plant Systems training (preferred).
• Knowledge of Mathcad, AutoCAD, and ANSYS (not required, but preferred).
• Must possess the mental capacity to comprehend information provided daily and make own decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provides timely support to contracts, programs, planning, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, assembly departments, as required, from proposal through delivery.
• Supports bid and proposal activities for Navy Nuclear Products.
• Reviews purchase order technical requirements including specifications for compliance with proposed design.
• Provides the primary technical interpretation of applicable specifications and codes imposed on deliverable items.
• Prepares technical submittals to Navy Nuclear Customer as applicable.
• Prepares design drawings and procedures to meet order requirements.
• Releases design drawings and procedures.
• Prepares and reviews design and qualification reports as necessary.
• Directs qualification test programs and testing contracted by Navy Nuclear Customer.
• Disposes of non-conforming equipment in a timely manner.
• Prepares technical instructions for assembly and test operations to fulfill contract requirements.
• Resolves technical issues during product flow from Engineering Release through product shipment.
