Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation is seeking a Defense Project Engineer for the Target Rock team in East Farmingdale, NY. You will direct all engineering aspects of Navy Nuclear valve and equipment projects, interfacing with contracts, planning, manufacturing, quality, and procurement to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering (or equivalent) with preferred PE registration, and familiarity with Mathcad, AutoCAD, and ANSYS.

Qualifications

• Four (4) year Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Nuclear) or equivalent experience.
• Professional Engineering Registration or advanced Engineering Degree (preferred).
• Power Plant Systems training (preferred).
• Knowledge of Mathcad, AutoCAD, and ANSYS (not required, but preferred).
• Must possess the mental capacity to comprehend information provided daily and make own decisions.

Responsibilities

• Provides timely support to contracts, programs, planning, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, assembly departments, as required, from proposal through delivery.
• Supports bid and proposal activities for Navy Nuclear Products.
• Review of purchase order technical requirements including specifications for compliance with proposed design.
• Provides the primary technical interpretation of applicable specifications and codes imposed on deliverable items.
• Prepare and, if applicable, make the appropriate technical submittals to Navy Nuclear Customer.
