Job summary

Curtiss-Wright seeks a Project Engineer, Defense for our Target Rock team in East Farmingdale, NY. You will direct all engineering aspects of Navy Nuclear valve design, development, and supply, serving as the technical integration owner and primary support to the Navy Nuclear Customer.

The role involves coordinating with contracts, programs, planning, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality departments, preparing submittals, and ensuring timely design releases.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of products and industry requirements.
• Working knowledge of applicable product specifications.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Mathcad, AutoCAD, and ANSYS.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely support to contracts, programs, planning, purchasing, manufacturing, quality, and assembly departments from proposal through delivery.
• Support bid and proposal activities for Navy Nuclear products.
• Review purchase order technical requirements for compliance with proposed design.
• Interpret applicable specifications and codes for deliverable items.
• Prepare technical submittals to Navy Nuclear Customer when required.
• Prepare design drawings and procedures to meet order requirements.
• Release design drawings and procedures; review design and qualification reports as needed.
• Direct qualification test programs and other tests contracted by Navy Nuclear Customer.
• Disposition non-conforming equipment promptly; ensure contract requirements are fulfilled.
• Prepare technical instructions for assembly and test operations; resolve issues impacting progress.
