Job summary

Anduril Industries is hiring a Software Manufacturing Test Engineer to build, scale, and maintain production software that tests complex hardware systems. You will create robust Python and C# applications, bridge hardware control with test automation, and ensure reliable software deployments on Linux‑based factory racks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• 3+ years of relevant industry experience as a Software Manufacturing Test Engineer or equivalent with software for hardware test automation.
• Strong proficiency writing production code in Python for software manufacturing test automation, device control, and data handling.
• Working knowledge of C# (.NET) for developing software manufacturing test applications, operator UIs, or system services.
• Strong Linux/Unix systems knowledge, including terminal proficiency, shell scripting, SSH, and network configuration/debugging.
• Experience interfacing software manufacturing test suites with embedded communication protocols: UART, CAN, RS-485/RS-232.
• Familiarity with controlling standard test equipment via software.
• Root-cause analysis skills for hardware-software boundary issues using logs and tools.
• Experience integrating software test platforms with MES and database backends.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to collaborate across teams.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ownership of software manufacturing test activities in production and ensure station uptime and throughput.
• Develop and maintain PLC-integrated station control software and manage controller tag exports.
• Build hardware-free simulation environments to enable regression testing without hardware.
• Design, build, and maintain production software test suites in Python and C#.
• Integrate software test applications with sensors, DAQs, power supplies, and vehicle compute hardware.
• Implement low-level hardware communication using UART, CAN, and RS-485/RS-232.
• Deploy and debug software test systems on Linux/Unix using SSH and network tools.
• Leverage Nix/NixOS to manage reproducible test environments.
• Collaborate with hardware/firmware engineers during NPI to define requirements and test coverage.
• Automate test execution across assembly levels from PCBA to ESS checks.
• Provide RCCA for complex hardware-software issues on the line.
• Log data and integrate with MES and databases for traceability.
• Create operator interfaces and troubleshooting logs for hardware failures.
• Support continuous improvement to shorten cycles and increase coverage.
