Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a decisive technical leader to head an FPGA engineering team for defense products, driving cost, schedule, and technical performance while collaborating with software, hardware, systems design and program management.

You will guide the pursuit through development, release, and long-term sustainment, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with Collins standards and DoD security requirements.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 10+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 7+ years of experience.
• At least 5+ years experience leading engineering teams, including mentoring, task delegation, and cross-functional collaboration in a technical development environment
• At least 5+ years experience with FPGA/ASIC development

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for FPGA development activities, guiding engineers across the organization.
• Contribute to the development of FPGA solutions by applying technical expertise and evaluating design approaches.
• Collaborate across functions with engineers, engineering leaders, program managers, and shared services to deliver FPGA solutions.
• Drive engineering excellence by meeting customer and program requirements and applying best practices.
• Support proposals and pursuit activities with technical content, estimates, and customer presentations as needed.
• Manage assigned technical activities and deliverables across one or more programs to meet schedules and commitments.
• Ensure compliance with Collins standards and industry practices while identifying opportunities to improve processes and execution.
