Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer (P5) to lead FPGA/ASIC based avionics projects. You will architect, design, verify and integrate high-performance digital systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet certification standards and deliver next-generation platforms.

The role requires a strong background in video/digital processing, certification processes and program management, with hybrid work options and opportunities to shape

Qualifications

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience
• U.S. citizenship required for access
• Experience with Video and Digital Processing in FPGA/ASIC or software products
• Experience leading technical projects with customer interaction
• Experience with DO-254 or DO-178 design assurance (DAL B or higher)

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development projects for video/image processing devices
• Develop project strategies to advance hardware discipline and products
• Ensure alignment to certification requirements up to DO-254 DAL A
• Communicate with engineering, program management, leadership, supply chain and customers
• Lead delivery of next-generation product platform spanning boot, app, and RTOS software
• Travel up to 10%
