Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a RTX division, seeks a Senior Principal Electrical/Computer Engineer to design digital ASIC/FPGA solutions for aerospace and defense. Based onsite in Fort Wayne, IN, you will lead RTL development, timing analysis, and verification while driving cross-functional collaboration across engineering teams.

Requirements include a STEM degree, 10+ years of experience (7+ with advanced degree), and eligibility for a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, or 7 years with advanced degree.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.
• Hands-on RTL design, coding, and simulation with VHDL and/or Verilog.
• 5+ years in digital circuit architecture, timing analysis and timing closure.
• 5+ years developing RTL verification testbenches with VHDL or SystemVerilog.
• Proficiency with ASIC/FPGA design tools (ModelSim, Synplify, Quartus, Vivado, QuestaSim).
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Capture requirements and design digital ASIC/FPGA architecture, including RTL development and timing closure.
• Identify tools and methods to improve the ASIC/FPGA design flow.
• Contribute to engineering estimates and technical planning for new programs.
• Plan and execute project-level work with schedule, cost, and performance objectives.
• Provide technical leadership for design teams and report status.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration for high-performance digital solutions.
