Job summary

Leidos Defense, Rapid Integration and Prototyping Department, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and influence critical DoD technologies. You will work in a multidisciplinary team to deliver robust mechanical solutions that enhance situational awareness for service members.

The role requires 4+ years of design/analysis experience, a BS (or MS) in engineering, and eligibility for a Secret clearance; leadership experience is preferred. The position is based in Huntsville, AL, on site.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering with 4+ years or Master’s with 2+ years of experience.
• 3+ years in design and/or analysis of mechanical systems with data package production per ASME Y14.100 & Y14.5.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
• Demonstrates work ethics and follows through on commitments.
• Leads or mentors teams on projects.

Responsibilities

• Create functional designs and collaborate with multi-discipline teams.
• Produce technical data packages: part drawings, assembly drawings, source control docs, and interface control docs per ASME Y14.
