Job summary

Defense Threat Reduction Agency is seeking a Budget Analyst at the GS-0560 series based in Fort Belvoir, VA. The role covers formulation, justification, presentation, and execution of agency appropriations across O&M, RDT&E, CTR, and other programs.

You will oversee budget functions, provide authoritative analyses, and support quarterly execution reviews. You will interact with Program Managers and Directorate Directors to exchange data, determine funding needs, and evaluate plans against

Qualifications

• Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for GS-12 and GS-13.
• For GS-09 and GS-11 you MUST provide transcripts or documentation to support educational claims.
• FOREIGN EDUCATION: credentials must be evaluated and deemed equivalent to U.S. education.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide range of technical, administrative, and analytical duties related to formulation, justification, presentation, execution, and review of the Agency appropriations (O&M, RDT&E, CTR, P, DW, MILCON).
• Provides oversight of and support for a full range of budget functions, applying expert knowledge of budget principles and financial management.
• Participates in formal quarterly execution reviews by providing budget execution input and monitoring Directorate funds.
• Maintains contact with Program Managers and Directorate Directors to exchange technical and program data; selects analytical methods for funding needs.
• Evaluates financial plans to ensure consistency with baselines; loads spend plans into automated systems and reconciles to actual fund activity.
