Job summary

MDW Associates is seeking a Senior Budget Analyst to provide senior-level budget formulation, execution, financial analysis, and process-improvement support to a DoD organization. The role helps translate financial data into spend plans, execution reports, and decision-ready recommendations.

This position is remote eligible with periodic on-site support in Quantico, Virginia, based on mission needs. The successful candidate will analyze variances, prepare spend plans, reconcile data, and develop

Qualifications

3+ years of quantitative analysis of financial or program data.
Experience with budget execution, financial reconciliation, spend planning and executive-level reporting.
Advanced Excel skills and the ability to communicate financial results clearly to non-financial audiences.
U.S. citizenship is required for this position.

Responsibilities

Analyze budget variances, financial projections, obligations, invoices, and execution data.
Prepare and maintain spend-plan documentation, funding trackers, budget-adjustment logs, and routine execution metrics.
Reconcile budget-management data with financial-system reports; research discrepancies and prepare documentation for government validation.
Support reviews of unliquidated obligations, de-obligations, funding realignments, year-end closeout, and out-year requirements.
Develop charts, tables, dashboards, briefings, SOPs, and process-improvement recommendations for leadership.
Provide analytical and user-support assistance for budget-management and collaboration tools.
