Job summary

A. Duie Pyle, a family-owned transportation and distribution company, is seeking a Dedicated Fleet Supervisor to support the Custom Dedicated operation. The role focuses on maximizing vehicle uptime and controlling maintenance costs across the dedicated fleet.

You will engage with account managers, coordinate repairs, and manage parts inventory at remote locations while developing vendor relationships to ensure premium service and cost control.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma and Industry Management Experience.
• Strong knowledge of Class 8 tractor trailer components.
• Travel up to 60% of the time.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Familiar with spreadsheets and basic statistics.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize with operation of each dedicated account to understand vehicle duty cycle and availability.
• Engage with account managers to stay updated on equipment issues and facilitate maintenance and repairs; coordinate parts inventory at remote locations.
• Manage vehicle maintenance for the dedicated fleet using vendor and in-house resources; coordinate repairs at Pyle facilities and communicate outcomes.
• Develop relationships with dealers and vendors to obtain premium service; verify work and review costs; inspect work quality.
• Learn and use fleet maintenance software to track repairs and maintenance effectiveness.
• Coordinate equipment rentals for the Dedicated operation; assist with in-servicing/out-servicing; reconcile rental invoices.
• Inspect and evaluate customer fleets during acquisition.

Position Summary

The Dedicated Fleet Supervisor’s position has been created to provide additional support for the Custom Dedicated operation, as that business unit continues to experience significant growth. The individual who fills this position will focus on all tasks or situations involving the Dedicated fleet of equipment in order to maximize vehicle up time and manage the costs related to the maintenance and repairs.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Becoming familiar with the operation of each dedicate account in order to understand the vehicle duty cycle and availability. Use the tools at your disposal to manage the maintenance operation
• Engaging with account managers to keep up-to-date with all equipment issues and to facilitate all needed maintenance and repairs. Coordinate and maintain parts/supply inventory at remote locations
• Managing the vehicle maintenance related responsibilities of the dedicated fleet using vendor and in-house resources. Whenever possible maintenance and repairs are to be performed at Pyle owned facilities. Coordination of these repairs will need to be clearly communicated through the regional fleet maintenance managers or directly with shop lead personal
• Developing relationships with dealers and vendors in Pyle’s operating area in order to obtain premium service. Verify that work proposed by vendor is necessary and review & approve costs. Also perform random inspections of work performed to ensure satisfactory workmanship
• Learning and become an expert in using leading edge fleet maintenance management software system to support, track and report on the effectiveness of the repairs and maintenance performed
• Coordinating the rental of equipment needed for the Dedicated operation. Assist with the in-servicing and out-servicing processes of the equipment. Reconcile rental invoices for payment
• Inspecting and evaluating customer’s current fleet to determine condition during acquisition process

To be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:

• High school Diploma and Industry Management Experience
• Strong knowledge of Class 8 tractor trailer componentry, specifications for various applications, and comprehensive understanding of maintenance and repairs
• Must be able to travel up to 60% of the time
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Must be familiar with spreadsheets and basic statistics
• Understand and support the step-by-step approach to training
• Class A CDL a plus
