A. Duie Pyle in the Northeast is seeking a training-focused professional to strengthen the Fleet Maintenance Department.

You will develop and manage training curricula, ensure compliance with programs, track completion, and continually enhance materials using modern learning tools. You will supervise training staff, partner with regional managers and shop supervisors to design and deliver technical programs, and use the LMS to record progress, measure outcomes, and support apprenticeship

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of class 8 tractor and trailer maintenance and DOT/OSHA guidelines.
  • Familiar with all systems relative to today’s heavy-duty equipment.
  • Must have 5+ years of maintenance experience in a fleet maintenance environment.
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Employee development and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the development, coordination, delivery, recordkeeping, and administrative oversight of training programs across the department.
  • Identify training needs, develop curriculum, and deliver training through in-person, recorded, and virtual environments.
  • Supervise, coach and develop a team of training department members.
  • Work cross-functionally with regional managers and shop supervisors to design and deliver technical training programs.
  • Utilize the LMS to record, monitor, and drive new training initiatives.
  • Coordinate with external training providers to supplement internal training and support growth.
  • Create and monitor measurable outcomes to evaluate training effectiveness and employee skill progression.
  • Continually evaluate procedures to monitor and update curriculum as needed.

Position Summary:

This well-organized, insightful, and forward-thinking, training-focused individual is responsible for ensuring A. Duie Pyle maintains accurate, effective training and development programs across the Fleet Maintenance Department. This role oversees the development of training curriculum, ensures compliance with established programs, tracks training completion, delivers training when appropriate, and continuously enhances training materials through the use of modern learning tools and software programs. The position works closely with department leaders to ensure training is completed in a timely manner and aligned with operational needs. This role serves as the direct supervisor of training personnel within the Fleet Maintenance Department and plays a key role in shaping and expanding the apprenticeship programs. While supervisory responsibilities are primary, hands‑on involvement is also expected to support the growth of existing training programs and the development of new initiatives that improve departmental proficiency and overall employee productivity.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Leads the development, coordination, delivery, recordkeeping, and administrative oversight of training programs across the department
  • Identify training needs, develop curriculum, and deliver training through in-person, recorded, and virtual learning environments
  • Supervise, coach and develop a team of training department members, supporting both current needs and future expansion
  • Work cross-functionally with Regional managers, Shop supervisors, and subject matter experts to design and deliver technical training programs
  • Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to record, monitor, and drive new training initiatives
  • Coordinate with external training providers to supplement internal training and support areas of growth
  • Create and monitor measurable outcomes to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and demonstrate employee skill progression
  • Continually evaluate procedures to monitor and analyze course effectiveness and update curriculum as needed
  • Foster positive interactions with coworkers and promotes the culture and company standards within the department

To be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:

  • Strong knowledge of class 8 tractor and trailer maintenance and DOT/OSHA guidelines
  • Familiar with all systems relative to today’s heavy-duty equipment
  • Must have 5 plus years of maintenance experience in a fleet maintenance environment
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Good written and strong oral communication skills
  • Employee development skills
