Job summary

RedSky is seeking an experienced Declassification Site Lead to serve as the on-site manager and primary contact supporting DISA and NARA on the national declassification mission. You will oversee a team of Declassification Analysts, ensure daily operations, and uphold strict quality standards under EO 13526.

This leadership role requires coordinating with archivists and records managers, directing reviews of sensitive records, and delivering regular performance reports in a fast-paced government

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of related professional experience.
  • Experience leading teams, supervising complex operations.
  • Deep knowledge of Executive Order 13526 and federal classification/declassification processes.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary liaison among DISA, NARA, and RedSky for daily supervision and workflow.
  • Perform technical document reviews for national security sensitivities and declassification.
  • Identify inter-agency equities and resolve complex review issues.
  • Conduct QA reviews and prepare regular performance reports for leadership.
  • Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Complete specialized training including HRRDR certification.

Job description

RedSky is seeking an experienced Declassification Analyst Site Lead to serve as the paramount on-site manager and primary point of contact supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency's (DISA) critical declassification mission at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). This pivotal leadership role provides robust oversight, strategic direction, and mentorship to a team of Declassification Analysts tasked with records review and classification analysis. The Site Lead balances mission execution, personnel management, and regulatory compliance by managing daily operations, maintaining strict quality standards, and providing technical expertise on complex classification matters under Executive Order 13526. The successful candidate will collaborate directly with archivists, records managers, and subject matter experts to aggressively identify and protect sensitive national security information while securely facilitating public access to historical government records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary liaison between DISA, NARA, the National Declassification Center, and RedSky personnel while providing day-to-day supervision, mentorship, and work distribution to ensure all mission requirements are meticulously met.
  • Perform highly technical daily document reviews without supervision, analyzing textual, electronic, audiovisual, and special media records for national security sensitivities and applying appropriate declassification bracketing and topics.
  • Identify inter-agency equities and independently resolve complex review issues involving multiple agency equities, classification challenges, and strict referral requirements.
  • Conduct rigorous quality assurance reviews to guarantee consistency in declassification decisions, track comprehensive team metrics, and prepare routine (weekly, monthly) and ad hoc performance reports for leadership.
  • Continuously develop and seamlessly implement process improvements that increase the efficiency, productivity, and overall quality of the declassification workflow.
  • Complete and maintain strict specialized training, including bracketing procedures, recognition of DISA equities, and certification by the Department of Energy as a Historical Records Restricted Data Reviewer (HRRDR).
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree alongside 5 years of related professional experience (equivalent experience or additional years of operational experience may be explicitly substituted for the education requirement).
  • Demonstrated previous experience in a capacity leading teams, managing personnel, or supervising complex operations.
  • Advanced, working knowledge of Executive Order 13526 and the intricate intricacies of the federal classification/declassification process.
Required Skills
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities coupled with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of classification principles and national security information protection protocols, including the ability to identify Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Basic proficiency and fundamental understanding of relevant program applications, including Microsoft Office Products, Excel, BlueBeam, and SharePoint.
  • Capability to effectively manage multiple projects independently while continuously reviewing paper documents and operating a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day.
  • Ability to travel <10%
