Job summary

Marine Spill Response Corporation is seeking an Able Bodied Seaman to support mooring, anchoring, and vessel maintenance while working a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation. Responsibilities include cleaning, maintenance, and deployment of response equipment as directed by the Master.

The role requires a valid USCG AB Special license, STCW endorsements, and the ability to operate a PC. Physical stamina for work on deck in various conditions, plus the ability to pass background and medical

Qualifications

Current USCG license AB Special is required.
Endorsements must list STCW endorsements (RFPNW, Able Seafarer-Deck, lifeboatman).
Valid USCG medical certificate (STCW) required.
Capable of prolonged, strenuous work onboard vessels at sea.
Effective leadership and written and oral communications skills.
Ability to operate a personal computer.
40-Hour Hazwoper is desired.

Responsibilities

Mooring or anchoring duties as assigned.
Carry out vessel and equipment cleaning, maintenance, and painting duties.
Assist in operation and deployment of response equipment as directed by the Master or designee.
Ensure vessel and equipment are cleaned and secured after each trip.
Splice and care for all lines, especially when moored; apply chafing gear as needed.
