Job summary

Marine Spill Response Corporation seeks an Able Bodied Seaman to support oil spill response operations. The role includes mooring, vessel and equipment cleaning, maintenance and painting, and assisting in deploying response equipment under the Master’s direction.

The position requires USCG AB Special license, STCW endorsements, medical clearance, and ability to work strenuous hours at sea using safety gear; background checks, medical exam and drug screen may be required.

Qualifications

• USCG AB Special license required.

Responsibilities

• Mooring or anchoring duties.
• Carry out vessel and equipment cleaning, maintenance and painting.
• Assist in operation and deployment of response equipment as directed by the Master or designee.
• Ensure vessel and equipment are cleaned and secured after each trip.
• Splice and care for all lines, ensuring proper tension and using chafing gear as needed.
