About the Role
Position: Deck Assistant (Seasonal, Part‑Time)
Location: Tanenbaum Family Pool, Pool Club
Schedule: 20–35 hours per week during the pool season (May15 – Sept10,2026)
Responsibilities
- Support agency initiatives by carrying out assigned duties accurately and efficiently.
- Participate in basic data collection, reporting, or documentation as required.
- Use agency resources responsibly by following established procedures and safeguarding equipment and materials.
- Collaborate with supervisors, coworkers, and cross‑department teams to ensure clear communication, timely task completion, and a positive work environment.
- Follow safety protocols, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe environment for staff, partners, and the public; promptly report concerns or incidents.
- Maintain cleanliness of facility, including locker rooms, bathrooms, and gym areas.
- Assist pool members with bags and other small requests.
- Keep storage spaces organized and clean.
- Maintain inventory of supplies.
- Create a welcoming environment for all guests of the pool club.
- Attend mandatory meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
- Act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in emergencies.
- Present a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
- Perform all other duties as assigned and appropriate.
Qualifications & Key Attributes
- Must be at least 15 years old.
- Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or facility maintenance preferred but not required.
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in high‑traffic areas.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to interact professionally with members, guests, and staff.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic awareness of safety procedures and emergency response protocols (training provided).
- Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
- Willingness to attend all required trainings and meetings.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays during the pool season.
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Consistently prepared, follows through on responsibilities, and meets timelines.
- Responds effectively to changing priorities, learns new tasks quickly, and applies feedback to improve performance.
- Adheres to safety protocols, policies, and ethical standards, representing the agency professionally.
Working Conditions & Job Details
Environment: Indoor and occasional outdoor pool setting.
Physical requirements: Sedentary, lifting up to 20 pounds; occasional standing, stooping.
Must attend mandatory trainings, meetings, and in‑service sessions before and during the season.
