Activities Coordinator
Position Type: Seasonal/Part-Time | Location: Bay Terrace Center
About the Role
Diverse seasonal and part‑time workers support daily operations, program delivery, and organizational goals at Commonpoint’s Pool Club. This position will plan, facilitate, and manage activities for pool members of all ages.
Role Responsibilities
- Agency Expectations: Support agency initiatives by carrying out assigned duties accurately and efficiently while following established processes, contributing to data collection, reporting, or documentation as required. Use agency resources responsibly and support cost‑effective operations. Collaborate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and cross‑department teams to ensure clear communication and timely task completion. Follow all safety protocols, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe work environment for staff, partners, and the public, promptly reporting any concerns.
- Role Expectations: Help create and plan activities for pool members of all ages; facilitate and clean up activities, including those that take place in the pool. Maintain inventory of art and sports equipment. Take photographs and videos around the facility to promote current and future programs and activities, and use these materials to create social media content. Interact with all members and guests while fostering lasting relationships.
Qualifications & Key Attributes
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age (or 18 per operational policy).
- Experience working with children, families, or in recreation/programming settings preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage comfortably with members of all ages.
- Ability to lead, facilitate, and manage group activities safely and organized.
- Energetic, outgoing personality with a customer service–focused mindset.
- Ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a fast‑paced, outdoor environment.
- Comfortable working in and around water (pool‑based activities).
- Basic understanding of safety protocols and willingness to enforce rules.
- Experience or interest in social media content creation (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) preferred.
- Ability to take quality photos/videos and assist with basic content creation.
- Strong organizational skills; able to track and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Willingness to set up and clean up activities daily.
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and professionalism.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays during the pool season.

Working Conditions & Job Details
- Work is primarily in an outdoor pool environment with exposure to sun, heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions.
- Requires ability to stand, walk, bend, and remain active for extended periods of time; physical effort includes lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Must be comfortable around water and may need to participate in or facilitate pool‑based activities.
- Required to attend mandatory trainings, meetings, and in‑service sessions before and during the season.
