Job summary

Responsibilities include sending letters, negotiating settlements, documenting financial status, performing skip-trace research, and updating the firm’s system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years in collections, accounts receivable or related.
• Able to meet monthly revenue goals.
• Accurate typing and data entry skills.
• Basic computer operation and internet research knowledge.
• Basic Excel knowledge.
• Maintains composure in challenging situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Able to pass a detailed background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Requests and mails form letters to businesses and guarantors to encourage payment.
• Confers by telephone to determine reasons for overdue payments and resolve them.
• Calculates payment arrangements and negotiates settlements with supervisor/client approval.
• Documents financial status and updates notes in the firm’s system.
• Contacts businesses, guarantors and attorneys for updates and information.
• Obtains information to handle payments by phone.
• Conducts skip-trace searches to locate contact information.
• Decides next activity on the file and monitors required documents.
• Utilizes all options to achieve payment of debt.
• Handles files per Weltman and client standards and maintains professionalism.
• Completes required training and accepts additional duties as needed.
