Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a resilient Debt Recovery Administrator on a 6-month contract with a local authority in Huntingdon. You will handle debt recovery cases, respond to enquiries, and support service improvements within the Income and Debt Recovery Team.

Ideal candidates have an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent, strong IT skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and empathy for vulnerable

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
• Experience in debt recovery, income collection or transactional processing.
• Experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Manage debt recovery cases in line with Council policies and collection strategies.
• Maximise income collection and support recovery of outstanding debts.
• Negotiate repayment arrangements with customers and track progress.
• Respond to customer enquiries via phone, email and letter with empathy and clarity.
• Document case activity and maintain accurate records.
