Position Summary

A Legal Management Services Attorney plays a pivotal role in overseeing and managing a high-volume civil litigation docket, primarily focusing on consumer debt collection cases. The firm specializes in legal recoveries for financial institutions across Maryland. The Legal Management Services Attorney specializes in legal recoveries and debt collection services for national banks and creditors, focusing on areas such as credit cards, auto loans, student loans, and judgment enforcement.

Key Responsibilities

• Court Representation: Attend hearings and trials throughout Maryland; Representing clients in civil collection matters.
• Case Management: Review and update case files, manage litigation calendars, and ensure timely progression of cases through the legal system.
• Negotiations: Engage in negotiations to resolve pending litigation efficiently, aiming for favorable outcomes for clients.
• Document Preparation and Signing: Prepare legal documents and pleadings, and execute necessary filings to support case advancement.
• Compliance and Oversight: Ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards, and oversee the management of exceptions and queues within the litigation process.

Qualifications

• Education and Licensing: A Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in the Texas Bar are required.
• Experience: While one year of civil litigation experience is preferred, the firm offers opportunities for attorneys to gain experience in this area.
• Skills: Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis, strong negotiation abilities, and experience in supervising legal processes are advantageous.
