Job summary

SAFCO is seeking a Collections Training Manager who combines practical debt collections experience with a passion for teaching and developing people. You’ll prepare new employees for success, strengthen the skills of experienced collectors, and help build a team that delivers results while treating customers with professionalism and respect.

You’ll lead new-hire training, guide nesting transitions, and design materials, policies, and methods to ensure consistent performance.

Qualifications

• Hands-on debt collections experience and negotiation skills.
• Experience designing and delivering employee training.
• Ability to explain complex information clearly and coach learners.
• Knowledge of compliant collection practices and documentation.
• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and collection systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead new-hire training covering debt collections, negotiation, customer communication, systems, documentation, and compliance.
• Guide nesting programs from classroom learning to live calls with coaching and readiness assessments.
• Teach collectors how to address objections and negotiate payment arrangements.
• Develop training materials, job aids, role-plays, and refresher courses.
• Review calls and accounts to identify skill gaps and provide feedback.
• Partner with Account Services leadership to align training with goals and standards.
• Track progress and adjust approaches to improve proficiency and performance.
