Meduit is seeking a Legal Clerk in Indianapolis to support the legal and collections departments. The role involves drafting and filing legal documents related to debt collection, maintaining case files, and coordinating with attorneys, clients, and courts to ensure timely processing of collection cases.

Responsibilities include monitoring deadlines, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with FDCPA and related regulations.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Familiarity with legal terms and debt collection processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software.

Responsabilidades

• Draft and file legal documents related to collections, such as complaints, judgments, garnishments, and subpoenas.
• Monitor case status and deadlines, court dates, and legal filings.
• Maintain and organize case files, dockets, and legal correspondence.
• Contact debtors, clients, courts, and legal professionals regarding collection matters.
• Process incoming payments and update account statuses accordingly.
• Prepare reports on outstanding balances, legal case progress, and collection efforts.
• Conduct basic legal research related to state and federal debt collection laws.
• Assist attorneys with trial preparation and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with the FDCPA and other applicable regulations.
